If I asked you to name an email Marketing instrument, what could you say? Email Marketing Conversion Rate
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like most online businesses now, email advertising continues to be Dominated by the same large players for the last decade. Which means that they get promoted very heavily and achieve a lot of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the marketplace, causing long-time customers to question their loyalties.

Like most email marketing providers these days, You’ll Need to Go through a review process before being able to correctly use the program.
When you first sign up, you’ll be asked to complete your profile.
This includes information like your company name, site, Industry, address, company size, record size and also the type of content you plan to send.
Then, You Have to verify your Website (or domain name).
This remains part of this acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply inquire which email is related to this domain so they could email you a confirmation link.
As Soon as You’ve completed these Steps, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, check your Site, and ascertain whether you’re a fantastic fit for their service.
(In other words, they are making sure you are not a spammer/scammer)
As revealed above, you’ll nevertheless be Able to use the software to make campaigns and perform with the features, but you will not be able to send anything until approved.
I had been”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limitation of 500 subscribers.
Here’s what the email said:
However, while these steps are not ideal for getting started, it Does help prevent malicious users from hurting everybody’s deliverability.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll rely on automations to handle The majority of your email marketing.
(We’ll get to automations soon, don’t worry.)
But if it is a brand new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there’s always a reason to send a more instant email.
That is where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the new’Create Campaign’ will give you several choices.
– Regular effort: A traditional broadcast email.
– A/B split campaign: Multiple email Versions, including subject line, from title and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to readers who Don’t open your broadcast email, with the choice of altering the subject line and email articles.
– RSS effort: Produce a recurring campaign That sends new content to subscribers using your website’s RSS feed.
Apart from a few added choices, most of these will follow The exact same step-by-step process of a normal campaign.
So let’s walk you through it.
Once you click to create your effort, you’ll be requested to Pick a preferred editor, whether that be the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
You can change to the Templates tab and choose from one of the pre-designed email templates — that will move you to the dragn’ drop editor .
In the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to choose From which is a little on the low side, however, the layouts are super contemporary.
And, of course, if you’d just Like to reuse a previous email, you can click on the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this instance, I will choose the first template from the library.
The editor is easy to use, Making viewing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the cubes in the sidebar to add different Types of content to your email, such as videos, product columns, and social links.
After making your changes, simply click’Done Editing’ and you’ll Be taken to the recipients’ options where you can select your groups or sections.
The advanced tab also allows one To build segment-like rules , in case your targeting isn’t quite right.
Finally, right before sending, then you’ll get to the’Program’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, whether that is instantly, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your readers time zones.
Impressive, right? Email Marketing Conversion Rate
Managing Your Clients
Having granular control over your subscribers is arguably one of The most important facets of any email advertising program today.
Because highly personalized efforts Are Essential if You’re looking to increase opens, clicks, and, above all, your own conversions.
And while many providers Permit You to”tag” readers in order To target them effectively, MailerLite uses a slightly different approach.
When you start up your subscriber dash, you’ll see two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are basically rules.
Your subscribers belong to a segment only when they fulfill the Specified principles, and are automatically added or eliminated so.
Here is what establishing a rule looks like:
Notice how you can also combine Principles, in addition to another rule if the first doesn’t exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The next tab is for classes, and despite the difference in name, These behave much like your usual”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the title to’Tags’, but finally decided against it)
Unlike Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or through an Automation rule — that we will get to in a moment — and they have no value besides what you actually call them.
As you Begin to use this platform, you’ll begin to understand Where Segments and Groups are generally used, however, MailerLite delivers a hand in case you’re unsure:
Basically, groups are more of a Deliberate action on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to bulge multiple subscribers collectively based on a common denominator.
A tad confusing, I’ll admit… but I believe it’s a fair trade-off For the added flexibility. In any case, they are optional.
Finally, the’Fields’ tab is used to personalize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their own fields, such as title, company, and country.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do so by Clicking on the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your subscribers together with Your custom field information in separate columns… or may simply add these fields to a forms which will only apply to prospective subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I created and added into a form:
I will not go too much to the form Things here since I have a whole section on this below, but this is the approach I would recommend if you wished to use this attribute.
Again, as Soon as You’ve gathered your custom field information from new Readers, you are able to pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Customized field.
I’m barely scratching the surface Of what is possible with custom fields, but it is important that you know that this is a feature you may use.
Overall, it is fair to state MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on point. Email Marketing Conversion Rate
If you’re not impressed by what you’ve seen so far, then perhaps The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, then you will be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Is not winning any awards, but it will offer a fantastic base to work from if, like the majority of us, you do not have that pure eye for layout.
I went ahead and chosen the’Lead Generation’ template, however They all finally do the same job; accumulate an email address.
This time, the editor will Provide you 17 building blocks to Further construct or alter your landing page.
Now, I have used my fair share of Visual page builders, and this is better than some dedicated solutions *Infection * WPBakery.
Along with the fundamental building blocks, you can use components like Hero segments, popup buttons, testimonials and countdown timers.
No, it will not be replacing landing Page builders such as Thrive Architect or even LeadPagesanytime soon, but credit where credit due, this thing over-delivers on all three form types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite actually Provides a Adequate set of type building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there’s a lot to cover .
Let us start with your Bog-standard embedded type.
These forms are created inside MailerLite in order to get An embed code, which you can then place on your site to display it on specific pages.
Despite starting off super fundamental, the form designer lets you To customize everything from the kind style, subjects, background, title, input fields and, of course, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which gives you a Opportunity To envision your own backup in real time.
It would’ve been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there’s more to a form than simply its physical appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will allow you to configure how the Form works, including adding additional fields and setting a custom success page.
(There’s a GDPR compliance alternative. Sweet.)
And talking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, That will replace the embedded kind also prevents users .
Last but surely not least, you Can assess how your form displays on mobile by switching the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t Have the Ability to make any design changes here, but it makes Sense to test, nevertheless.
So that is an overview of this Embedded form but as I said before, you may also create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the Vast Majority of this installation process is identical, you will find A few differences I’d like to point out.
Unlike embedded kinds, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most Comprehensive selection, they do offer a good base to work from and the editor is just as easy to use with this form type.
Clicking on the’E-commerce’ template takes me into a preview Before moving into the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new choices under form types Now around:
Contemplating paid tools such as Thrive Leads exist for ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to see this amount of control over popup types.
And, as before, you can perform with the styling options to get it Matched up with your own branding.
Finally, you can Select the close Behaviour of your type under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is the X icon, but you can swap this out for A”No thanks” text option, or have .
That is really where most email Marketing platforms would render you, but MailerLite has yet another trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your effort Data in the dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click info, Subscriber growth, automation analytics, and kind signups.
Clicking into any effort will Give you specific reporting for that effort.
This is where you’ll discover a few more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading environment, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the average consumer…
…but in Case You really want To dig into the numbers, it is possible to click into individual areas of the report for a more detailed breakdown.
You can find some real gems under These reports.
For example, the’View Email’ tab also shows a click map, so You can see your subscribers interacted with your emails compared to another.
Reports for automations are Available under the’Automations’ tab, even though I found these to be less enlightening than campaign reports.
Here’s a quick example:
Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and many will get the available statistics more than enough to meet their needs.
What is email marketing with no dashboard of automation?
For many reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this particular review.
The good news? If you have used a visual workflow builder, then You will immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, The automations interface is simple, clean and simple to navigate — something that certainly can’t be said for each and every email advertising program.
After establishing your trigger, you can Start adding steps to your workflow.
These measures could be anything from sending an email, adding a Delay, a conditional split, or an action, like transferring a subscriber or upgrading their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I set together, where readers Are unsubscribed if they do not open my email within seven days.
There are countless Possibilities when it comes to workflow automations similar to this, and MailerLite should not have any trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it is not quite as Feature-rich as something like ActiveCampaign since it lacks some of the conditional elements. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.)
For Instance, there’s currently no automation for transferring Subscribers directly into another automation.
That being said, the Majority of these actions can Nevertheless Be achieved by moving Subscribers into various classes that trigger new automation workflows. It’s simply not as effective…. yet.
Another question of efficiency here is when generating new emails In the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email block to The workflow, you’ll be asked to add your subject line which appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will fire up the Editor:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the standard campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the critique.
This time, but once you’ve created your email, clicking the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you back to the automations workflow instead of the usual sending alternatives.
Finally, your email address will be Loaded into your own automation.
A Wonderful touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation block, which means it’s possible to get an concept about what it contains at a glance.
While this procedure may seem like A grind on newspaper, it is actually much quicker than what I’m used to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a fantastic example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, you’ll likely find this a downgrade in performance.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, but I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there’s one Kind of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, and I think that it’s important to highlight.
The ability to activate an automation (or step) based on how Readers interact with the pages on your site.
This kind of behavioral targeting only is not available in MailerLite at this time, so if it’s something you use or plan to use, you might want to skip this one. Email Marketing Conversion Rate
The Price of MailerLite is no doubt one of the tools biggest Selling things, and let’s face it, we all love a good deal.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All attributes (including premium) for as many as 1,000 subscribers.
While there is some subtle Branding on your mails using this plan, it’s still an amazing alternative for those starting out.
And what about the premium plans?
It turns out, at around half the Price of this rivalry on average, MailerLite is undoubtedly one of the cheapest options on the market. Additionally, if you’re ready to pay yearly, you can also get a much better discount.
In Reality, I haven’t been able to find anything that does the Exact Same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of the few email advertising tools The (very crowded) industry in the last couple of years, and that’s no simple feat.
While it is not as quickly as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it performs exceptionally well at virtually anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the perfect balance Between flexibility, simplicity and speed, and at a price point you will seriously struggle to beat.
