Introduction Hellobar Mailerlite
If I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what would you say? Hellobar Mailerlite
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?

Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the market, causing long-time customers to question their loyalties.

Like most email marketing providers these days, you will need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the program.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information such as your company name, site, Industry, address, company size, list size and also the type of content you plan to send.
Then, you need to verify your Site (or domain name).
This remains part of the approval process, and MailerLite will Simply inquire which email is associated to that domain so they can email you a verification link.
Once you’ve completed those Steps, you ought to wait it out.
The MailerLite staff will review your application, assess your Site, and ascertain whether you are a good fit for their service.
(Quite simply, they’re making sure you’re not a spammer/scammer)
As revealed above, you’ll still be Able to utilize the software to make campaigns and play with the features, but you will not be able to send anything until accepted.
I had been”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limitation of 500 subscribers.
Here Is What the email said:
However, while these measures aren’t perfect for getting started, it Does help stop malicious users from damaging everyone else’s deliverability.
If you are anything like me, you’ll rely on automations to handle The majority of your email advertising.
(We’ll get to automations shortly, don’t worry.)
But whether it’s a brand new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there’s always a reason to send a more instant email.
That’s where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the brand new’Produce Campaign’ will give you several choices.
– Regular effort: A Conventional broadcast email.
– A/B split effort: Multiple email Versions, including subject line, from title and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to readers who Don’t open your broadcast email, with the option of changing the subject line and email content.
– RSS campaign: Produce a recurring campaign That sends new content to subscribers using your site’s RSS feed.
Apart from a few additional options, most of these will follow Exactly the same step-by-step process of a standard effort.
So let’s walk you through it.
As Soon as You click to create your effort, you’ll be asked to Select a favorite editor, whether that be the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
Otherwise, you can switch to the Templates tab and choose from one of the pre-designed email templates — that will move you to the dragn’ drop editor by default.
At the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to select From which is a little on the low side, but the layouts are super modern.
And, of course, if you would just Prefer to reuse a previous email, you can click the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this example, I will select the first template from the library.
The editor is easy to work with, Making customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the cubes in the sidebar to add different Types of articles to your email, including videos, merchandise columns, and societal connections.
After making your adjustments, simply click’Done Editing’ and you will Be taken to the recipients’ options where you can choose your classes or segments.
The advanced tab also allows you To develop segment-like rules , in the event your targeting is not quite right.
Finally, right before sending, then you’ll get into the’Schedule’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, whether that is instantly, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your subscribers time zones.
Impressive, right? Hellobar Mailerlite
Handling Your Subscribers
Possessing granular control over your readers is arguably among The most important facets of any email marketing program now.
Because highly personalized campaigns are necessary if You are looking to increase opens, clicks, and, above all, your own conversions.
And while most providers allow you to”tag” readers in order To target them effectively, MailerLite utilizes a slightly different strategy.
When you start up your subscriber dashboard, you’ll notice two Options; Segments and Groups.
Segments are basically principles.
Your readers belong to a section only when they meet the Specified principles, and will be automatically added or eliminated so.
Here’s what establishing a rule looks like:
Notice how you can also combine Rules, in addition to another rule when the first does not exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The next tab is for classes, and also the difference in title, These behave much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but finally decided against it.)
Contrary to Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or via an Automation principle — which we will get to in a minute — and they don’t have any value besides what you call them.
As you start to use this stage, you’ll Start to understand Where Segments and Groups are typically used, but MailerLite offers a hand in case you’re uncertain:
Basically, groups are much more of a Deliberate action on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments allow you to bulge multiple contributors collectively based on a frequent denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I’ll admit… but I feel it’s a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. Besides, they are optional.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to personalize your email copy.
You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their own fields, such as title, business, and nation.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do so by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your subscribers together with Your custom field information in distinct columns… or can easily add these fields to a forms which will only apply to future readers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I made and added into a form:
I won’t go too much to the shape Stuff here since I have an entire section on that below, but this is the strategy I’d recommend if you wished to use this feature.
Again, once you’ve gathered your custom field data from new Subscribers, you are able to pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Custom field.
I am barely scratching the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it is important that you understand this is a feature you can use.
Overall, it is reasonable to state MailerLite has their subscriber Direction and personalization features on point. Hellobar Mailerlite
If you are not impressed by what you have seen so far, then maybe The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After choosing’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, then you’ll be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template selection Isn’t winning any awards, it does offer a fantastic foundation to work from if, for example most of us, you don’t have that natural eye for layout.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, however They ultimately do the same task; collect an email address.
This time, the editor will Provide you 17 building blocks to Further construct or alter your landing page.
Now, I have used my fair share of Visual site builders, and it is already better than some dedicated solutions *cough* WPBakery.
Along with the basic building blocks, you can use elements like Hero sections, popup buttons, reviews and countdown timers.
No, it will not be replacing landing Page builders like Thrive Architect or even LeadPagesanytime shortly, but credit where credit due, this item over-delivers on all three kind types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite really offers a Decent set of type building tools.
Not only that, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there is a lot to cover here.
Let’s begin with your Bog-standard embedded type.
These forms are created inside MailerLite in order to get An embed code, which you can then place on your website to show it on particular pages.
Despite starting off super fundamental, the form designer lets you To customize everything from the form style, fields, background, title, input fields and, of course, the button.
Form text can also be edited directly, which Provides you a chance To visualize your copy in real-time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates, but as you know, there’s more to some form than just its appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will allow you to configure the way the Form functions, such as adding extra fields and establishing a custom success page.
(There is even a GDPR compliance option. Sweet.)
And speaking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also enables you to customize the default message, Which will replace the embedded form also prevents users from redirecting.
Last but certainly not least, you Can check how your form displays on cellular by shifting the toggle to responsive mode.
You won’t Have the Ability to make any design changes here, but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that is an Summary of this Embedded form but as I said before, you can even create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the majority of the setup Procedure is identical, there are A few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded forms, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most In depth choice, they do offer a fantastic foundation to work from and the editor is just as simple to use with this form type.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template requires me into a preview Before moving to the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new choices under form types Now around:
Contemplating paid programs like Thrive Leads exist for ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to see this amount of control over popup forms.
And, like before, you can play with the styling options to get it Matched with your branding.
Finally, you can choose the close Behavior of your form under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is the X icon, but you can swap this out for A”No thanks” text option, or have .
That is where most email Marketing platforms would leave you, but MailerLite has yet another trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your effort Data in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from campaign open and click info, Subscriber growth, automation analytics, and kind signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you specific reporting for that campaign.
This is where you’ll find a few more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, studying surroundings, email client and much more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary consumer…
…but in Case You really want To dig into the numbers, it is possible to click into individual areas of the report to get a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems under These reports.
For example, the’View Email’ tab also shows a click map, so You can see how your readers interacted with your emails compared to another.
Reports for automations are Available under the’Automations’ tab, though I found these to be less insightful than campaign reports.
Here’s a Fast example:
Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and many will get the available data more than enough to meet their needs.
What’s email advertising without a dash of automation?
For many reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could easily make or break this review.
The great news? If you have ever used a visual workflow builder, You will instantly feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, The automations interface is easy, clean and easy to navigate — something which certainly can not be said for each and every email advertising software.
After establishing your trigger, you can Start adding measures to your workflow.
These steps can be anything from sending an email, including a Delay, a conditional split, or an action, like transferring a contributor or updating their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I put together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed when they do not open my email within 7 days.
There are innumerable Possibilities in regards to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should not have any trouble with the huge majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign since it lacks a number of the conditional components. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.. )
For Instance, there’s currently no automation for transferring Subscribers directly into another automation.
That being said, most of these actions can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into various groups that trigger new automation workflows. It’s just not as effective…. yet.
Another matter of efficacy here is when generating new mails From the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email block to The workflow, you will be asked to put in your subject line that then appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will automatically fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the critique.
This time, but once you’ve established your email, clicking the ‘Done editing’ button will direct you straight back to the automations workflow instead of the usual sending options.
Finally, your email will be Loaded into your own automation.
A nice touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation cube, so it’s possible to find an idea of what it contains at a glance.
While this procedure may seem like A grind on newspaper, it’s really much faster than what I am utilized to with other email marketing tools — ActiveCampaign being a fantastic example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded within the automations builder, so you will probably find that this downgrade in functionality.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, however I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this section, there’s one Kind of automation You will not find in MailerLite, and I think it’s very important to highlight.
The ability to activate an automation (or step) based on the way Subscribers interact with all the pages on your site.
This kind of behavioral targeting just is not available in MailerLite at this time, so if it’s something you use or intend to utilize, you might want to skip this one. Hellobar Mailerlite
The Price of MailerLite is among the tools largest Selling points, and let us face it, most of us love a good deal.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All attributes (including premium) to get as many as 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding in your emails using this program, it’s still an wonderful option for those starting out.
And what about the premium programs?
It turns out, at approximately half of the Cost of the competition generally, MailerLite is undoubtedly among the least expensive options available on the market. Additionally, if you’re willing to pay yearly, you are also able to get an even better discount.
In Reality, I haven’t been able to find anything that does exactly the same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is among the very few marketing tools The (very crowded) industry in recent years, which is no simple feat.
While it’s not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
Overall, I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and at a price point you will seriously struggle to conquer.
Thinking about giving it a twist? Let us know how it works for you From the comments. Hellobar Mailerlite
