Introduction Mailer Lite Lt
When I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what could you say? Mailer Lite Lt
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like many online industries now, email advertising has been Dominated by the same big players for the previous decade. Which means that they get promoted very heavily and achieve a lot of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the marketplace, inducing long-time customers to question their loyalties.

Like most email marketing providers Nowadays, you will need to Go through a review process before being able to properly use the software.
When you first register, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information such as your organization name, website, Business, address, business size, record size and even the kind of material you plan to send.
Then, You Have to verify your Site (or domain name).
This remains part of this approval process, and MailerLite will Simply inquire which email is associated to this domain in order that they could email you a verification link.
Once you’ve completed these Steps, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, assess your Website, and determine whether you are a good match for their services.
(In other words, they’re making sure you’re not a spammer/scammer)
As revealed above, you’ll nevertheless be Able to utilize the software to make campaigns and play with the features, but you won’t have the ability to send anything before accepted.
I had been”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limitation of 500 subscribers.
Here’s what the email said:
But while these measures aren’t ideal for getting started, it Does help stop malicious users from damaging everyone else’s deliverability.
If you are anything like me, you’ll rely on automations to handle Nearly all your email advertising.
(We’ll get to automations shortly, don’t worry.)
But whether it is a brand new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there is always a reason to send a more instant email.
That is where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the brand new’Create Campaign’ will provide you several options.
– Regular effort: A traditional broadcast email.
– A/B split effort: Multiple email Versions, including subject line, from title and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to subscribers who Do not open your broadcast email, with the choice of altering the subject line and email content.
– RSS effort: Produce a recurring campaign That sends fresh content to subscribers using your site’s RSS feed.
Aside from a few added choices, most of these will follow The exact same step-by-step procedure of a standard campaign.
So let’s walk you through it.
As Soon as You click to create your effort, you’ll be asked to Select a preferred editor, whether that be the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
You can change to the Templates tab and choose from among their pre-designed email templates — which will move you into the dragn’ drop editor .
In the time of writing, you’ll find 21 email templates to choose From which is a little on the low side, but the designs are super contemporary.
And, of course, if you’d just Prefer to reuse a previous email, you can click the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this instance, I’ll choose the first template in the library.
The editor is easy to work with, Which makes customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the cubes in the sidebar to add distinct Types of articles to your email, such as videos, product columns, and societal links.
After making your changes, just click’Done Editing’ and you’ll Be taken to the recipients’ options where you are able to choose your groups or segments.
The advanced tab also allows one To build segment-like rules on-the-fly, in case your targeting is not quite right.
Finally, right before sending, you’ll get to the’Schedule’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, if that’s immediately, at a set time/date, or in accordance with your subscribers time zones.
Impressive, right? Mailer Lite Lt
Handling Your Clients
Having granular control over your subscribers is arguably one of The most essential facets of any email marketing program now.
Because highly personalized efforts Are Essential if You’re searching to increase clicks, opens, and, most importantly, your own conversions.
And while most providers Permit You to”label” subscribers in order To target them effectively, MailerLite utilizes a slightly different approach.
When you start up your subscriber dash, you’ll see two Choices; Segments and Groups.
Segments are essentially principles.
Your subscribers belong to a section only when they meet the Specified principles, and are automatically added or removed accordingly.
Here is what establishing a rule looks like:
Notice the way you can also blend Principles, in addition to another rule when the first doesn’t exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The following tab is for classes, and also the difference in title, These behave much like your usual”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the title to’Tags’, but finally decided against it.)
Unlike Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or via an Automation principle — that we will get into in a minute — and they have no value besides what you actually call them.
As you Begin to use this stage, you’ll Start to understand Where Segments and Groups are generally used, but MailerLite delivers a hand in the event you’re unsure:
Basically, groups are much more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments permit you to lump multiple subscribers collectively according to a frequent denominator.
A tad confusing, I’ll admit… but I feel it’s a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. In any case, they’re discretionary.
Finally, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this area with their particular areas, such as name, company, and nation.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do so by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they really work?
You can either upload a CSV record of your subscribers along with Your custom field data in distinct columns… or may simply add these fields to a types which will only apply to future readers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I created and added into a form:
I will not go too much into the shape Things here since I have an entire section on this below, but this is the strategy I would recommend if you wished to use this feature.
Again, once you’ve collected your custom field information from fresh Subscribers, you can pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and select your Customized field.
I’m barely scraping the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it’s important to know this is a feature you may use.
Overall, it is fair to say MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on point. Mailer Lite Lt
If you are not impressed by what you have seen so far, then maybe The page builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, then you will be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template selection Is not winning any awards, it does offer a great foundation to work from if, like the majority of us, you do not have that pure eye for layout.
I went ahead and chosen the’Lead Generation’ template, however They ultimately do the identical job; accumulate an email address.
This time, the editor will give you 17 building blocks to Further construct or alter your landing page.
Now, I’ve used my fair share of Visual site builders, and this is better than some dedicated solutions *Infection * WPBakery.
Along with the fundamental building blocks, you can use components like Hero segments, popup buttons, testimonials and countdown timers.
It won’t be replacing landing Page builders like Thrive Architect or LeadPagesanytime soon, but credit where credit due, this item over-delivers on all 3 form types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email marketing tools, MailerLite actually Provides a Decent set of form building tools.
Not only that, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this same interface, so there is a whole lot to cover here.
Let us begin with your Bog-standard embedded type.
These forms are created inside MailerLite in order to get An embed code, which you can then place on your website to display it on specific pages.
Despite starting off super fundamental, the form designer lets you To personalize everything from the form style, fields, background, name, input fields and, of course, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which gives you a chance To visualize your copy in real time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there is more to some form than simply its physical appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will allow you to configure how the Form works, including adding extra fields and setting a custom success page.
(There’s a GDPR compliance alternative. Sweet.)
And speaking of the success page…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, That can replace the embedded kind and prevents users .
Last but surely not least, you Can assess the way your form displays on mobile by shifting the toggle to responsive mode.
You won’t Have the Ability to make any design changes , but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that is an Summary of the Embedded form but like I said before, you can also create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the majority of the setup Procedure is identical, there are A few differences I’d like to point out.
Unlike embedded forms, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most Comprehensive choice, they do provide a fantastic foundation to work from and the editor is at least as easy to use with this form kind.
Clicking on the’E-commerce’ template takes me into a preview Before moving to the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new options under form types Now around:
Considering paid programs such as Thrive Leads exist for both ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to see this amount of control over popup forms.
And, as before, you can play with the styling options to get it Matched up with your branding.
Finally, you can Select the close Behavior of your form under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is that the X icon, but you can swap out this for A”No thanks” text option, or have both.
That is where most email Marketing platforms would render you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your effort Data in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click data, Subscriber development, automation analytics, and form signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you specific coverage for this campaign.
This is where you’ll discover a few more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, studying surroundings, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary consumer…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into different areas of this report to get a more detailed breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Mail’ tab also displays a click map, so You can see precisely how your subscribers interacted to one another.
Reports for automations are Available under the’Automations’ tab, although I found to be less enlightening than effort reports.
Here’s a Fast example:
Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting interface, and many will get the available data more than sufficient to meet their needs.
What’s email advertising without a dashboard of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this particular review.
The great news? If you’ve ever used a visual workflow builder, then You’ll immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, The automations interface is simple, clean and simple to navigate — something that certainly can’t be said for every email marketing program.
After setting your trigger, you can Start adding measures to your workflow.
These measures can be anything from sending an email, including a Delay, a conditional split, or an act, such as moving a contributor or upgrading their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I set together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed when they do not open my email within seven days.
There are innumerable Possibilities when it comes to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should not have any trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something like ActiveCampaign since it lacks a number of the conditional elements. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.)
For example, there’s now no automation for moving Subscribers directly into a different automation.
That being said, the Majority of these activities can Nevertheless Be achieved by moving Subscribers into different classes that activate new automation workflows. It is just not as efficient…. yet.
Another matter of efficacy here is when creating new emails In the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email cube to The workflow, you’ll be asked to add your subject line which appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the standard campaign creation wizard, which I covered earlier in the review.
This time, but as Soon as You’ve created your email, clicking the ‘Done editing’ button will direct you back into the automations workflow instead of the usual sending options.
Ultimately, your email address will be Loaded into your automation.
A Wonderful touch here is having a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation cube, which means it’s possible to find an idea about what it contains at a glance.
While this procedure may seem like A grind on paper, it is really much faster than what I’m utilized to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you’ve come over from something such as ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, so you’ll likely find that this downgrade in functionality.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, but I guess it’s all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there’s one Kind of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, also that I think it’s important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or measure ) based on the way Subscribers interact with the pages on your website.
This kind of behavioral targeting only is not available in MailerLite at this time, so if it’s something you use or plan to use, you may want to skip this one. Mailer Lite Lt
The cost of MailerLite is one of those tools biggest Selling points, and let us face it, we all love a fantastic deal.
For starters, they offer an infinite free plan that includes All attributes (including premium) for up to 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding in your emails using this program, it is still an wonderful option for those starting out.
And what about the premium plans?
It turns out, at around half of the Price of this competition on average, MailerLite is undoubtedly one of the cheapest options on the industry. Additionally, if you’re ready to pay yearly, you are also able to get a much better discount.
In Reality, I have not been able to find anything that does the same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of the email advertising tools to disrupt The (very crowded) industry in recent decades, and that’s no simple feat.
While it’s not as quickly as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it performs exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and all at a price point you will seriously struggle to beat.
Thinking of giving it a twist? Let us know how it works for you From the remarks. Mailer Lite Lt
