Like many online businesses now, email advertising continues to be Dominated by the identical big players for the last ten years. Which means that they get promoted very heavily and achieve a great deal of mindshare.

Like most email advertising providers these days, You’ll Need to Go through a review process before being able to correctly use the software.
When you first sign up, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information such as your organization name, website, Industry, address, company size, list size and even the type of content you plan to send.
Then, you need to verify your Website (or domain ).
This remains part of the approval process, and MailerLite will Simply inquire which email is related to that domain so they could email you a confirmation link.
As Soon as You’ve completed those Measures, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite staff will review your application, check your Website, and ascertain whether you are a good fit for their service.

Notice how you can even blend Principles, as well as another rule if the first does not exist.

The next tab is for groups, and despite the difference in title, These behave much like your normal”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but finally decided against it.)
Contrary to Segments, Groups are updated manually or through an Automation principle — which we’ll get to in a moment — and they don’t have any value aside from what you actually call them.
As you Begin to use this stage, you’ll Start to understand Where Segments and Groups are typically used, but MailerLite offers a hand in case you’re unsure:
Fundamentally, groups are more of a Deliberate action on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments permit you to lump multiple subscribers together according to a common denominator.
A tad confusing, I’ll admit… but I feel it is a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. Besides, they are optional.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to personalize your email copy.
You’ll notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their own areas, such as name, business, and nation.
If You Would like to create your own custom fields, you can do so by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your readers along with Your custom field data in separate columns… or can easily add these fields to your forms which will only apply to future subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test area I created and added into a form:
I will not go too much into the shape Things here since I have an entire section on this below, but this is the approach I’d recommend if you wanted to use this attribute.
Again, once you’ve gathered your custom field data from new Readers, you are able to pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and select your Custom field.
I’m barely scraping the surface Of what is possible with custom fields, but it is important to know this is a feature you may use.

If you’re not impressed with what you’ve seen so far, then perhaps The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, then you will be Able to select from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template choice Isn’t winning any awards, it will offer a fantastic base to work from if, for example the majority people, you don’t have that natural eye for design.
I went ahead and selected the’Lead Generation’ template, though They ultimately do the identical task; accumulate an email address.

Now, I’ve used my fair share of Visual page builders, and this is better than some dedicated alternatives *cough* WPBakery.

Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite really Provides a Adequate set of form building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this same interface, so there’s a lot to cover here.
Let us begin with your Bog-standard embedded form.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then place on your site to display it on specific pages.
Despite starting off super basic, the form designer allows you To personalize everything from the form style, subjects, background, title, input fields and, clearly, the button.
Form text can also be edited directly, which Provides you a Opportunity To envision your own copy in real-time.
It would’ve been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there’s more to a form than simply its physical appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will allow you to configure the way the Form functions, including adding additional fields and setting a custom success page.

And talking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, That can replace the embedded form and prevents users from redirecting.
Last but surely not least, you Can assess how your form screens on cellular by shifting the toggle to responsive mode.
You won’t be able to make any design changes , but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that is an overview of the Embedded form but like I said before, you may even create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the majority of the installation process is identical, there are Still a few differences I’d like to point out.
Unlike embedded forms, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most Comprehensive selection, they do provide a fantastic foundation to work from and the editor is at least as simple to use for this form type.

And, as before, you can play with the styling options to get it Matched up with your own branding.
Last, you can Select the near Behaviour of your type under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is the X icon, but you can swap this out for A”No thanks” text choice, or have .
That is where most email Marketing platforms would leave you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Statistics in the main dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from campaign open and click info, Subscriber growth, automation stats, and kind signups.
Clicking into any effort will Give you special coverage for that effort.
This is where you’ll find some statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, reading environment, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the average user…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, it is possible to click into different areas of the report to get a more detailed breakdown.
You can find some real gems beneath These reports.
For example, the’View Email’ tab also displays a click map, so It’s possible to see your subscribers interacted with your emails compared to one another.
Reports for automations will also be Available under the’Automations’ tab, even though I found these to be less insightful than effort reports.

Total, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and most will find the available statistics more than enough to meet their demands.
What is email advertising with no dashboard of automation?
For most reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this review.
The good news? If you have ever used a visual workflow builder, You’ll instantly feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is simple, clean and simple to navigate — something which certainly can’t be said for each and every email advertising program.
After establishing your trigger, you can Start adding steps to your workflow.
These measures can be anything from sending an email, including a Postpone, a bubble break, or an act, like transferring a contributor or updating their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I set together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed if they do not open my email within 7 days.
There are countless Possibilities in regards to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should have no trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it’s not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign because it lacks some of the conditional components. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.. )
For Instance, there’s currently no automation for transferring Subscribers directly into a different automation.
That being said, most of these activities can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into different classes that trigger new automation workflows. It is just much less efficient…. yet.
Another matter of efficacy here is when creating new mails From the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email cube to The workflow, you’ll be asked to put in your topic line which then appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the standard campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the review.
This time, however, once you’ve created your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will guide you straight back into the automations workflow rather than the usual sending alternatives.
Ultimately, your email address will be Loaded into your own automation.
A nice touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation block, so you can get an idea of what it contains at a glimpse.
While this process may seem like A grind on paper, it’s actually much quicker than what I’m used to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something such as ConvertKit where The editor is loaded inside the automations builder, you’ll likely find that this downgrade in performance.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, but I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there is one Kind of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, and I think that it’s very important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or measure ) based on the way Readers interact with all the webpages on your website.
This Sort of behavioral targeting only is not available in MailerLite at this time, so if it’s something you use or intend to utilize, you may want to skip this one. Mailerlite Background Image
The cost of MailerLite is among those tools largest Selling things, and let us face it, most of us love a good bargain.

While it’s not as quickly as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at virtually anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and at a price point you’ll seriously struggle to beat.
