Introduction Mailerlite Drip Campaign

MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?
Like many online businesses today, email advertising continues to be Dominated by the same big players for the previous decade. Which means they get promoted very heavily and accomplish a great deal of mindshare.
Now and then, however, an Underdog disrupts the marketplace, causing long-time customers to question their loyalties.

Like most email advertising providers Nowadays, you will need to Go through a review process before being able to correctly use the program.
When you first sign up, you’ll be asked to finish your profile.
This includes information such as your organization name, website, Business, address, business size, list size and also the type of content you intend to send.
Then, you need to verify your Website (or domain name).
This remains part of this approval process, and MailerLite will Simply ask which email is associated to this domain so they could email you a confirmation link.
Once you’ve completed these Steps, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite staff will review your application, check your Site, and determine whether you are a good match for their service.
(Quite simply, they’re making sure you are not a spammer/scammer)
As shown above, you’ll still be Able to utilize the software to make campaigns and play with the attributes, but you will not have the ability to send anything before accepted.
I was”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here Is What the email said:
However, while these measures are not ideal for getting started, it Does help stop unscrupulous users from damaging everyone else’s deliverability.
If you are anything like me, you’ll rely on automations to Deal with Nearly all your email marketing.
(We will get to automations soon, do not worry.)
But if it is a brand new blog post, podcast, or timely Announcement, there is always a reason to send a more immediate email.
That is where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the new’Produce Campaign’ will provide you several choices.
– Regular campaign: A Conventional broadcast email.
– A/B split effort: Multiple email Versions, such as subject line, from title and, yes, even email content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to readers who Do not start your broadcast email, together with the choice of altering the subject line and email content.
– RSS campaign: Produce a recurring campaign That sends new content to subscribers using your website’s RSS feed.
Aside from a few added options, most of these will follow The exact same step-by-step procedure of a normal campaign.
So let’s walk you through it.
Once you click to create your effort, you’ll be requested to Select a preferred editor, whether that’s the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
You can change to the Templates tab and select from one of their pre-designed email templates — that will move you into the dragn’ drop editor .
In the time of writing, you’ll find 21 email templates to choose From which is somewhat on the low side, but the designs are super modern.
And, of course, if you would just Like to reuse a previous email, you can click on the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this instance, I’ll select the first template from the library.
The editor is easy to use, Which makes customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the blocks in the sidebar to add different Kinds of content to your email, such as videos, merchandise columns, and societal connections.
After making your changes, simply click’Done Editing’ and you will Be taken to the recipients’ choices where you are able to choose your groups or segments.
The tab also allows you To build segment-like rules on-the-fly, in the event your targeting isn’t quite right.
Finally, before sending, you’ll get to the’Schedule’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, whether that’s immediately, at a set time/date, or according to your readers time zones.
Impressive, right? Mailerlite Drip Campaign
Handling Your Clients
Possessing granular control over your readers is arguably among The most essential aspects of any email marketing program now.
Because highly personalized campaigns are necessary if You’re looking to increase opens, clicks, and, above all, your conversions.
And while most providers allow you to”label” subscribers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite utilizes a slightly different strategy.
When you open up your subscriber dash, you’ll notice two Options; Segments and Groups.
Segments are basically principles.
Your readers belong to a segment only when they meet the Specified principles, and are automatically added or removed so.
Here’s what setting up a rule looks like:
Notice how you can even combine Principles, as well as another rule if the first doesn’t exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The next tab is for classes, and also the difference in title, These act much like your usual”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but finally decided against it.)
Unlike Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or through an Automation principle — that we will get into in a minute — and they don’t have any value aside from what you call them.
As you Begin to use this stage, you’ll Start to understand At which Segments and Groups are typically used, but MailerLite offers a hand in the event you’re unsure:
Basically, groups are much more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber basis, whereas Segments allow you to lump multiple contributors together according to a common denominator.
Somewhat confusing, I will admit… but I believe it’s a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. Besides, they’re discretionary.
Last, the’Fields’ tab is used to customize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this region with their particular fields, such as name, business, and nation.
If you want to create your own custom fields, you can do so by Clicking the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV record of your readers along with Your custom field data in separate columns… or can simply add these fields to a forms which will only apply to future readers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test area I made and added to a form:
I will not go too much into the form Things here since I have an entire section on that below, but this is the approach I’d recommend if you wanted to use this feature.
Again, as Soon as You’ve collected your custom field information from fresh Readers, you are able to pull them in to your email content and subject line.
Just click the’Personalization’ drop down and select your Custom field.
I’m barely scraping the surface Of what’s possible with custom fields, but it’s important to understand this is a feature you may use.
Overall, it is fair to state MailerLite has their subscriber Direction and personalization features on stage. Mailerlite Drip Campaign
If you are not impressed with what you have seen so far, then perhaps The webpage builder will tickle your fancy.
After selecting’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, you’ll be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template selection Isn’t winning any awards, but it will offer a fantastic foundation to work from if, like most people, you don’t have that natural eye for layout.
I went ahead and chosen the’Lead Generation’ template, however They all finally do the same job; accumulate an email address.
This time, the editor will give you 17 building blocks to Further construct or change your landing page.
Now, I have used my fair share of Visual page builders, and this is better than some dedicated alternatives *cough* WPBakery.
Along with the fundamental building blocks, you can use elements like Hero segments, popup buttons, reviews and countdown timers.
It won’t be replacing landing Page builders such as Thrive Architect or even LeadPagesanytime soon, but credit where credit due, this thing over-delivers on all 3 kind types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite really Provides a Adequate set of form building tools.
Also, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this exact same interface, so there’s a whole lot to cover here.
Let us start with your Bog-standard embedded type.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite in order to get An embed code, which you can then place on your site to display it on particular pages.
Despite starting off super basic, the form designer allows you To customize everything from the kind style, subjects, background, title, input fields and, of course, the button.
Form text may also be edited directly, which Provides you a chance To visualize your backup in real-time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates here, but as you know, there’s more to a form than simply its physical appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will allow you to configure how the Form works, such as adding extra fields and setting a custom success page.
(There is a GDPR compliance alternative. Sweet.)
And speaking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also enables you to customize the default message, Which can replace the embedded form also prevents users from redirecting.
Last but surely not least, you Can assess the way your form screens on mobile by switching the toggle to reactive mode.
You won’t Have the Ability to make any layout changes , but it makes Sense to test, nevertheless.
So that’s an overview of this Embedded form but like I said before, you can even create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the Vast Majority of this installation process is identical, you will find Still a few differences I’d like to point out.
Unlike embedded kinds, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most In depth selection, they do provide a good base to work from and the editor is at least as simple to use for this form kind.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template requires me into a preview Before moving to the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new options under form types Now around:
Contemplating paid tools such as Thrive Leads exist for ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to see this amount of control over popup types.
And, like before, you can perform with the styling options to get it Matched with your branding.
Finally, you can choose the close Behaviour of your form under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is the X icon, but you can swap out this for A”No thanks” text option, or have .
This is really where most email Marketing platforms will render you, but MailerLite has one more trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Data in the dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click data, Subscriber growth, automation stats, and kind signups.
Clicking into any campaign will Give you special reporting for this effort.
This is where you’ll discover some statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, studying environment, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the average consumer…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, it is possible to click into different areas of the report for a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems under These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Mail’ tab also shows a click map, so You can see your subscribers interacted with your emails in relation to one another.
Reports for automations are also Accessible under the’Automations’ tab, although I found these to be less enlightening than campaign reports.
Here’s a Fast example:
Total, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting interface, and many will get the available data more than sufficient to meet their demands.
What is email marketing without a dashboard of automation?
For many reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could easily make or break this review.
The good news? If you have used a visual workflow builder, You will immediately feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, That the automations interface is easy, clean and simple to navigate — something that certainly can’t be said for every email marketing software.
After setting your trigger, you can Start adding steps to your workflow.
These measures can be anything from sending an email, adding a Postpone, a conditional split, or an action, like moving a contributor or updating their records.
Here’s a straightforward workflow I set together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed when they don’t open my email within seven days.
There are innumerable Possibilities when it comes to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should not have any trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it is not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign because it lacks a number of the conditional elements. (Split, Go To, Goal, etc.)
For example, there’s now no automation for transferring Subscribers directly into a different automation.
That being said, the Majority of these actions can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into different classes that activate new automation workflows. It is simply much less effective…. yet.
Another matter of efficiency here is when creating new emails From the automation workflow builder.
After adding an email block to The workflow, you’ll be asked to put in your subject line that then appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking the’Design email’ button will fire up the Writer:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered previously in the review.
This time, but as Soon as You’ve created your email, clicking on the ‘Done editing’ button will direct you straight back into the automations workflow instead of the usual sending options.
Ultimately, your email will probably be Loaded into your automation.
A Wonderful touch here is having a thumbnail preview of your Email within your automation block, so it’s possible to get an concept of what it contains at a glance.
While this process may seem like A grind on newspaper, it’s really much faster than what I’m utilized to with other email advertising tools — ActiveCampaign being a fantastic example.
On the other hand, if you have come over from something like ConvertKit where The editor is loaded within the automations builder, so you’ll probably find that this downgrade in functionality.
It is fast enough for me, Personally, however I guess it’s all relative.
Before I wrap up this segment, there is 1 type of automation You will not find in MailerLite, and I think that it’s important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or measure ) based on the way Readers interact with all the pages on your website.
This kind of behavioral targeting only is not accessible MailerLite at this time, so if it’s something you use or intend to use, you might want to skip this one. Mailerlite Drip Campaign
The Price of MailerLite is one of those tools largest Selling things, and let us face it, we all love a good deal.
For starters, they offer an infinite free plan that includes All features (including premium) to get up to 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding on your emails using this plan, it is still an amazing alternative for anyone starting out.
And what about the premium programs?
It ends up, at around half of the Price of the competition generally, MailerLite is by far one of the least expensive options on the industry. Plus, if you’re ready to pay yearly, you can also get an even greater discount.
In fact, I haven’t been able to locate anything that does the Exact Same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is one of those email advertising tools The (very crowded) sector in recent years, which is no easy feat.
While it’s not as quickly as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
Overall, I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, simplicity and speed, and at a price point you will seriously struggle to conquer.
Thinking of giving it a twist? Let us know how it works for you In the remarks. Mailerlite Drip Campaign
