Introduction Mailerlite Gif
When I asked you to name an email Marketing tool, what could you say? Mailerlite Gif
MailChimp? Aweber? ActiveCampaign?

Like most email advertising providers Nowadays, You’ll Need to Go through a review process before being able to correctly use the software.
When you first sign up, you’ll be asked to complete your profile.
This includes information like your company name, website, Industry, address, company size, list size and even the kind of material you plan to send.
Then, you need to confirm your Website (or domain ).
This is still part of this acceptance process, and MailerLite will Simply ask which email is related to that domain in order that they can email you a confirmation link.
As Soon as You’ve completed these Steps, you’ll need to wait it out.
The MailerLite team will review your application, assess your Website, and ascertain whether you’re a good match for their service.
(Quite simply, they’re making sure you are not a spammer/scammer)
As shown above, you’ll nevertheless be Able to utilize the software to make campaigns and perform with the features, but you won’t be able to send anything until accepted.
I had been”partially” approved within a few hours, which gave me a Temporary limit of 500 subscribers.
Here’s what the email said:
But while these steps aren’t perfect for getting started, it Does help prevent unscrupulous users from damaging everybody’s deliverability.
If you are anything like me, you’ll rely on automations to Deal with Nearly all your email marketing.
(We will get to automations shortly, do not worry.)
But whether it is a brand new blog article, podcast, or timely Announcement, there is always a reason to send a more immediate email.
That’s where’Campaigns’ come in.
Clicking the new’Produce Campaign’ will provide you several choices.
– Regular effort: A traditional broadcast email.
– A/B split campaign: Multiple email Variations, such as subject line, from title and, yes, even content. (Woop!)
– Auto resend: Resend to readers who Do not open your broadcast email, with the option of altering the subject line and email articles.
– RSS campaign: Produce a recurring campaign That sends fresh content to readers using your site’s RSS feed.
Apart from a few added options, most of these will follow The same step-by-step process of a normal effort.
So let’s walk you through it.
Once you click to create your campaign, you’ll be asked to Pick a favorite editor, whether that’s the dragn’ drop, rich text or HTML.
You can change to the Templates tab and select from among the pre-designed email templates — that will move you to the dragn’ drop editor by default.
In the time of writing, there are 21 email templates to select From which is a little on the low side, but the designs are super contemporary.
And, of course, if you’d just Prefer to reuse a previous email, you can click on the’Recent Emails’ tab.
For this instance, I’ll choose the first template in the library.
The editor is easy to use, Which makes customizing these templates a 5-minute job.
You can also use the blocks in the sidebar to add different Types of content to your email, such as videos, product columns, and social connections.
After making your adjustments, just click’Done Editing’ and you’ll Be taken to the recipients’ choices where you are able to choose your groups or sections.
The advanced tab also allows you To develop segment-like rules on-the-fly, in case your targeting is not quite perfect.
Finally, right before sending, then you’ll get to the’Program’ screen.
This is where you control when your broadcast email should go Out, whether that is instantly, at a set time/date, or according to your readers time zones.
Impressive, right? Mailerlite Gif
Managing Your Subscribers
Having granular control over your subscribers is arguably among The most important facets of any email advertising software today.
Because highly personalized campaigns are necessary if You are searching to increase opens, clicks, and, most importantly, your conversions.
And while many providers allow you to”label” readers in order To target them more effectively, MailerLite utilizes a slightly different approach.
When you start up your subscriber dashboard, you’ll notice two Options; Segments and Groups.
Segments are basically rules.
Your readers belong to a segment only when they fulfill the Specified rules, and are automatically added or removed accordingly.
Here is what setting up a rule looks like:
Notice how you can also blend Rules, as well as another rule if the first does not exist.
Pretty smart, eh?
The following tab is for classes, and despite the difference in name, These behave much like your usual”tagging” system.
(MailerLite even debated Changing the name to’Tags’, but finally decided against it)
Unlike Segments, Groups are upgraded manually or through an Automation principle — which we’ll get into in a minute — and they have no value besides what you actually call them.
As you start to use this platform, you’ll begin to understand Where Segments and Groups are generally used, but MailerLite offers a hand in case you’re uncertain:
Basically, groups are more of a Deliberate activity on a per-subscriber foundation, whereas Segments permit you to bulge multiple subscribers together according to a frequent denominator.
A tad confusing, I will admit… but I feel it’s a fair trade-off For the additional flexibility. Besides, they are discretionary.
Finally, the’Fields’ tab is used to personalize your email copy.
You will notice that MailerLite has Already populated this area with their particular fields, such as name, business, and country.
If you want to create your own custom fields, you can do so by Clicking on the’Add new field’ button.
So how do they actually work?
You can either upload a CSV file of your subscribers together with Your custom field information in distinct columns… or may easily add these fields to your forms which will only apply to prospective subscribers.
Here’s a screenshot of a test field I made and added to a form:
I will not go too much into the shape Things here because I have an entire section on this below, but this is the strategy I’d recommend if you wished to use this attribute.
Again, once you’ve collected your custom field information from new Readers, you are able to pull them into your email content and subject line.
Just click on the’Personalization’ drop down and choose your Customized field.
I’m barely scratching the surface Of what is possible with custom fields, but it’s important that you know that this is a feature you may use.
Overall, it is reasonable to state MailerLite has their subscriber Management and personalization features on point. Mailerlite Gif
If you’re not impressed with what you’ve seen so far, then perhaps The page builder will tickle your fancy.
After choosing’Landing Pages’ from the forms page, then you’ll be Able to pick from 8 pre-designed templates.
Again, while the template selection Isn’t winning any awards, but it does offer a fantastic foundation to work from if, like the majority people, you don’t have that natural eye for design.
I went ahead and chosen the’Lead Generation’ template, though They all finally do the same job; collect an email address.
This time, the editor will give you 17 building blocks to Further build or change your landing page.
Now, I’ve used my fair share of Visual site builders, and this is already better than a few dedicated solutions *cough* WPBakery.
Together with the fundamental building blocks, you can use elements like Hero sections, popup buttons, testimonials and countdown timers.
No, it will not be replacing landing Page builders like Thrive Architect or LeadPagesanytime soon, but credit where credit due, this thing over-delivers on all 3 form types.
Form Builder Tool
Unlike some email advertising tools, MailerLite actually offers a Decent pair of form building tools.
Not only that, but you can also create popups and landing pages Through this same interface, so there’s a lot to cover .
Let’s begin with your Bog-standard embedded type.
These forms are first created inside MailerLite so as to get An embed code, which you can then place on your website to display it on specific pages.
Despite beginning super fundamental, the form designer lets you To personalize everything from the kind style, subjects, background, title, input fields and, of course, the button.
Form text can also be edited directly, which Provides you a Opportunity To visualize your copy in real-time.
It would have been nice to have Some templates, but as you know, there’s more to a form than just its physical appearance.
Clicking on the’Settings’ tab will allow you to configure how the Form functions, including adding additional fields and setting a custom success page.
(There’s even a GDPR compliance option. Sweet.)
And talking of the success webpage…
…MailerLite also lets you customize the default message, Which will replace the embedded kind also prevents users from redirecting.
Last but surely not least, you Can assess how your form displays on mobile by shifting the toggle to responsive mode.
You won’t be able to make any design changes , but it makes Sense to check, nevertheless.
So that is an Summary of the Embedded form but as I said before, you can also create popup forms in MailerLite.
While the Vast Majority of the installation process is identical, there are Still a few differences I’d love to point out.
Unlike embedded kinds, you can choose between a set of Templates:
While this isn’t the most In depth choice, they do provide a fantastic foundation to work from and the editor is at least as simple to use for this form type.
Clicking the’E-commerce’ template takes me into a preview Before moving to the editor.
Here, you’ll notice there are some new options under form types Now around:
Contemplating paid programs like Thrive Leads exist for both ribbons and slide-in forms, it’s pretty impressive to observe this level of control over popup forms.
And, like before, you can play the styling options to get it Matched with your own branding.
Last, you can choose the near Behaviour of your type under the’Settings’ tab.
The default option is that the X icon, but you can swap this out for A”No thanks” text option, or have both.
This is where most email Marketing platforms will render you, but MailerLite has yet another trick up its sleeve.
Reporting & Analytics
Like many tools, you’ll find a summary of your campaign Data in the dashboard.
Here you’ll see everything from effort open and click info, Subscriber growth, automation stats, and kind signups.
Clicking into any effort will Give you special reporting for this campaign.
This is where you’ll find a few more advanced statistics such as Unsubscribes, spam complaints, bounces, studying environment, email client and more.
This should be plenty of Information for the ordinary consumer…
…but if you really want To dig into the numbers, you can click into individual areas of the report to get a more comprehensive breakdown.
You can find some real gems under These reports.
By Way of Example, the’View Mail’ tab also shows a click map, so You can see exactly how your readers interacted with your mails compared to one another.
Reports for automations are Available under the’Automations’ tab, though I found to be less enlightening than campaign reports.
Here’s a quick example:
Overall, MailerLite does a Stellar job with their reporting port, and many will get the available data more than enough to meet their needs.
What is email marketing without a dash of automation?
For many reading this, MailerLite’s automation capabilities Could simply make or break this particular review.
The good news? If you’ve ever used a visual workflow builder, You’ll instantly feel at home here…
Much like the rest of MailerLite, The automations interface is simple, clean and easy to navigate — something which certainly can not be said for every email marketing software.
After establishing your trigger, you can Start adding measures to your workflow.
These measures could be anything from sending an email, adding a Delay, a conditional split, or an act, like moving a contributor or updating their records.
Here’s a simple workflow I put together, where subscribers Are unsubscribed if they do not open my email within 7 days.
There are innumerable Possibilities in regards to workflow automations like this, and MailerLite should have no trouble with the vast majority of use cases.
Granted, it is not quite as Feature-rich as something such as ActiveCampaign because it lacks a number of the conditional components. (Split, Visit, Goal, etc.. )
For Instance, there’s currently no automation for moving Subscribers directly into a different automation.
That being said, most of these activities can still be achieved by moving Subscribers into different classes that activate new automation workflows. It’s simply not as effective…. yet.
Another question of efficiency here is when generating new emails From the automation workflow builder.
After having an email block to The workflow, you will be asked to put in your subject line that appears on the block itself.
From there, clicking on the’Design email’ button will automatically fire up the Editor:
Now, you’ll be briefly Redirected to the typical campaign creation wizard, which I covered earlier in the critique.
This time, but as Soon as You’ve established your email, clicking the ‘Done editing’ button will direct you straight back to the automations workflow rather than the usual sending options.
Finally, your email will probably be Loaded into your own automation.
A Wonderful touch here is using a thumbnail preview of your Email inside your automation cube, which means it’s possible to get an idea about what it contains at a glance.
While this procedure may seem like A grind on newspaper, it’s actually much quicker than what I am utilized to with other email marketing tools — ActiveCampaign being a great example.
On the other hand, if you’ve come over from something such as ConvertKit where The editor is loaded within the automations builder, so you will likely find that this downgrade in functionality.
It is quick enough for me, Personally, however I guess it is all relative.
Before I wrap up this section, there is 1 Kind of automation You won’t find in MailerLite, also I think it’s important to highlight.
The ability to trigger an automation (or step) based on how Readers interact with the pages on your site.
This Sort of behavioral targeting just isn’t available in MailerLite at this time, so if it’s something you use or plan to use, you might want to skip this one. Mailerlite Gif
The Price of MailerLite is among those tools biggest Selling things, and let us face it, we all love a fantastic deal.
For starters, they offer an unlimited free plan that includes All attributes (including premium) for as many as 1,000 subscribers.
While There’s some subtle Branding on your emails using this plan, it is still an amazing alternative for anyone starting out.
And what about the top plans?
It turns out, at approximately half the Price of the rivalry generally, MailerLite is undoubtedly among the least expensive options available on the market. Plus, if you are willing to pay yearly, you can also get a much greater discount.
In Reality, I haven’t been able to find anything that does the Exact Same job, cheaper.
MailerLite is among the few email marketing tools to disrupt The (very crowded) industry in the last couple of years, and that’s no easy feat.
While it is not as fast as ConvertKit, or as feature-rich As ActiveCampaign, or as template-heavy as MailChimp, it works exceptionally well at just about anything you can throw at it.
I find MailerLite strikes the best balance Between flexibility, speed and simplicity, and at a price point you will seriously struggle to beat.
Thinking about giving it a twist? Let us know how it works for you In the comments. Mailerlite Gif
